Hit And Run: PokerStars Sunday Million To Become PKO This Weekend; Oregon Online Sportsbetting Set For October 7th

With the WCOOP in the rearview mirror, attention this weekend now turns to the Sunday Million. This Sunday's event will be mixing up the format again as the tournament becomes a Progressive Knockout event. Like most weeks, the Sunday Million will be held at 19:00 CET on Sunday and require a $109 buy-in for entry.

The first time the Sunday Million turned into a PKO was in March when the tournament was part of "Knockout Sunday" that turned all major tournaments into knockout events. It was believed to last be held in August.

In PKO tournaments, 50% is allocated to the prize pool while the remaining 50% is paid as bounties. The first time that a PKO was held for the Sunday Million, the tournament attracted 9,892 players and additional 2,900 re-entries.

- Oregon has set a target launch date for its first online sportsbook for October 7th. The offering will come through the Oregon Lottery and use the Scoreboard online sportsbetting app. The app's payment processing still needs to be approved before a launch. Oregon sports betting allow accept wagering on professional events, putting betting on college sports on hold.

- DraftKings has become the first-ever official daily fantasy sports provider for the NFL, becoming the last of the major sports leagues to work with DFS sites in an official capacity. The deal between the NFL and DraftKings will allow DraftKings to display NFL branding and other collaboration. The move comes on the heels of a deal between the NFL and Tabcorp last week, which creates a partnership between the NFL and an Australian sportsbook, the league's first foray into online sports betting.

- This week, talk of Rounders 2 heated up after screenwriter Brian Koppelman responded to Daniel Negreanu's plea for a sequel to the poker classic. But PokerNewsDaily's Earl Burton says there is no need for a second film and that producers should not try to catch lightning in a bottle twice.

And speaking of gambling movies, Vince Van Patten's "7 Days to Vegas" premiered in Las Vegas recently. PokerNews, which was at the premier, says that the movie "succeeds in making a fun gambling flick" but that poker is not the focus of the movie.
