Hooters adds betting aids as Super Bowl lures

31st January, 17:19

As another come-on for Super Bowl watchers, Hooters has outfitted its restaurants in Indiana, New Jersey and Pennsylvania with in-store screens for depicting sports betting information.

The statistics and other information are intended to help patrons bet more astutely via, a virtual sportsbook accessible via smartphone. Under a deal with the service, Hooters customers will be provided with special benefits, including up to $300 in funds to match what users deposit into their betting accounts.

Online sports betting is legal in the three states where the KonekTV screens have been installed.

The move by Hooters is the latest effort by a casual-dining chain to harness the appeal of sports wagering. Buffalo Wild Wings, for instance, struck a long-range partnership last year with Roar Digital, a leader in online gaming. The prior year, it offered noncash betting in New Jersey units via an arrangement with DraftKings.

Adding perks for bettors "allows us to bring a whole new world of opportunities to our guests and creates another reason as to why Hooters is the ultimate hangout spot," Terry Marks, CEO of Hooters of America, said in a statement.

Hooters of America is the franchisor and operator of 410 full-service Hooters restaurants in 38 states. The Hooters concept is known for its wings and scantily clad waitresses.
