Mattress Mack is back: $1M bet on San Francisco 49ers to win 2020 Super Bowl

1st February, 01:37

Houston furniture salesman Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale has become well-known for his huge bets on sports. He jumped in again for Super Bowl 54 with a $1 million money-line bet on the San Francisco 49ers.

According to BetMGM, the bet at the Mirage in Las Vegas was on the 49ers' +120 money line. That means Mack wins $1.2 million with a San Francisco victory.

Mack's huge bet might initially instill some confidence in nervous 49ers fans. However, he lost $12 million betting on the Astros to beat the Nationals in the 2019 World Series. He also bet $1 million against the Chiefs in each of Kansas City's first two playoff games.

Mack told 95.7 The Game in San Francisco that he likes the fact the 49ers are a complete team, and said fans should worry because he's due to win a bet after losing a few in a row.

The bet does come with a caveat though. He stands to get some business for his Houston-based furniture store if San Francisco wins.
