The key in this battle will be Green Bay's rushing defense, which ranks 24th in the NFL with 127.7 yards per game allowed. Carolina ranks seventh in the NFL with 132.9 yards per game on the ground, and RB
Christian McCaffrey has rolled up 881 yards with 13 total touchdowns. Defensively, the Panthers rank ninth in the NFL against the pass, yielding just 227.0 yards per game. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 429 yards with five touchdown passes in Week 7 against the Oakland Raiders in Green Bay's last home game, posting a perfect QB rating for the first time in franchise history. Rodgers has 12 touchdown passes and just two interceptions in five home games this season. He has averaged 378.0 passing yards across the past three at Lambeau. The Panthers topped the Packers 31-24 in the most recent meeting Dec. 17, 2017, in Charlotte. Panthers at Packers: Key injuries
Panthers: McCaffrey (knee) is expected to be just fine, as is WR Curtis Samuel (hamstring). DT Gerald McCoy (knee) and S Eric Reid (ankle) are bigger question marks. QB Cam Newton (foot) was the big story this week, as he was officially added to the Reserve/Injured list.
Packers: Rodgers (knee) will be just fine, although WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (ankle), the team's leading receiver, isn't as much of a certainty. WR Davante Adams (toe) is also touch and go, although he did return after a four-game absence last week.

Packers 33, Panthers 30
The PACKERS (-222) are a little expensive at this price tag, but they're not going to let QB Kyle Allen come in and outduel Rodgers, especially on their home turf. It is going to be a shootout, however. The Panthers (+180) are a tempting play at this price level, as you can nearly double your money with an upset. Not gonna happen.

Against the Spread (?)
The PANTHERS (+4.5, -110) will keep the Packers (-4.5, -110) within arm's length for most of the game. They'll likely key on video, watching the things the Chargers did last week so successfully in a 26-11 win over the Pack. I expect Carolina to come up just short, but they'll get the cover, perhaps in backdoor fashion.
The OVER 47.5 (-110) is the play. Rodgers is going to do special things through the air, CMC is going to do big things on the ground, and neither defense is going to offer very much resistance. The most certain bet in this game is the Over, even better if you elect to tease it up as part of a three- or four-team parlay.
