Capitals 5, Sharks 3
The CAPITALS (-133) hold the top spot in the Metropolitan Division and share first place in the NHL. The Sharks (+110) are home underdogs as they enter play fourth in the Pacific Division. San Jose has won two straight games by an aggregate score of 8-3 and is 9-6-0 on home ice. Washington has won three straight with one of those games going to overtime. It's 11-2-1 on the road.
Take the visitors as the team to extend its winning streak. Washington has the edge in total shot attempts, scoring chances and PDO (shooting percentage plus save percentage).
Get better value on WASHINGTON (-1.5, +195) by banking on a win by two or more goals. The Caps are 16-12 against the spread overall and 11-3 on the road. The Sharks are just 13-15 overall and 7-8 at SAP Center. Four of the Capitals' 11 road wins have been by a margin of at least two goals and four of the Sharks' six home losses were by at least two goals.
Take the OVER 6.5 (+100) and count on the Capitals to handle the bulk of the scoring against the volatile Jones. The Caps and Sharks are both 6-4 against the Over/Under across their last 10 games. The Capitals have played to a goal total of seven in each of their last three games.
