What prop bets tell us about Chiefs vs. 49ers in Super Bowl LIV
25th January, 11:34The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will soon make their way to Miami Gardens, Florida ahead of Super Bowl LIV. This highly anticipated matchup is drawing a lot of attention, especially in the sports betting world.
In gambling, a proposition bet or prop bet is a bet made about whether something will or won't occur during the course of a game. You can bet on specific players or even the main event. Some prop bets are downright silly, but other prop bets can tell you a lot about what people with a lot of money on the line expect to happen during the game. So what can the current slate of prop bets tell us about what oddsmakers expect to happen in the Super Bowl?
Running backs will score points
According to BetMGM player prop bets, Chiefs RB Damien Williams (-130) is the favorite to score a touchdown in Super Bowl LIV. 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (-125) is the runner up to Williams. This is a little peculiar to me given the Chiefs aren't exactly known as a team that runs the football. Mostert is coming off a monster game, putting up four rushing touchdowns against the Packers in the NFC championship game. Williams has been good in the playoffs, but I'm not sure that I could rightfully select him as the favorite following that performance by Mostert. 1
